What a Day of Stories might look like at your school.

Meeting with students through their Language Arts or Literature classes, I draw from folk and fairy tales with themes of fear, horror, and love, maybe some humor after they trust me! Stories are more intricate, often gripping students for the full period. Seldom do I tell more than two such lengthy stories during a 50-minute class period.

Possible Stories: Tam Lin and Janet, Godmother Death, Pretty Maid Ibronka, La Llorona, The Black Prince, Katya and the Devil, Mr. Fox and Lady Mary, A Chaparral Christmas Gift (O. Henry), Mr. Death and the Red-Headed Woman, The White Buffalo Calf Woman, The Marquez de Aguayo's Revenge, Chantecleer and the Fox (Geoffrey Chaucer), The Wounded Selkie,...

Of course, stories don't stay strictly in their grades but can adjust up or down according to the audience. This list is just to reassure you that there are stories for everyone!
